Introduction

Saw palmetto,Serenoa Repens,is a native plant of North America.It is one of the top ten selling herbs nationwide.The saw palmetto plant contains serrated leaves and abundant berries.Many European countries use saw palmetto oil as a medical treatment for benign prostatatic hypertrophy,or BPH.Typical ssmptoms include difficulty urinating,weak urination and frequent urination.
Research shows that saw palmetto greatly reduces these symptoms in about 2/3 of men.It has been shown that the prostate tends to grow when left untreated.Saw palmetto can cause a definite small shrinkage.The benefits of this herb may require four to six weeks for desired results.
